Program Description:

The St. John School of the Arts Visiting Teaching Artists Program (VITA) aims to bring the knowledge and experiences of art  professionals from different parts of the world to the community of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Visiting artists will be asked to offer a minimum of three activities such as in-school or after-school classes, workshops, audio-visual presentations,  exhibitions, and/or open studios. In-school program sessions should be  designed to positively impact student learning through arts-integrated instruction. Teaching Artists will collaborate with SJSA staff to present a culminating activity that’s open to the public and includes student participation.  These activities may be held at the school or at another site with a community partner.
